Mike Asetta leads and performs with jazz groups at concerts, private events, and clubs throughout Southern New England and the New York area, showcasing the Great American Songbook along with the best of today’s popular songs interpreted in jazz. Mike’s career includes extended tours with the United States Air Force Jazz Ambassadors and the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, later performing nightly as the house bassist at the world’s largest casino for over five years.

Mike’s most treasured influencer, was the late, great Donn Trenner.  Donn Trenner’s knowledge and intense musical leadership provided strength and guidance to the finest musicians worldwide.  Donn performed with jazz innovators such as Charlie Parker and Stan Getz.  His true strength was as the pianist guiding singers such as Lena Horne, Anita O’Day, Ann-Margret, and Nancy Wilson.  Jazz aficionados in Connecticut miss Donn Trenner’s longtime effort to keep the memory of Chic Chicchetti alive in Hartford.
